We all know that more and more people are doing laser surgery now. Many people don't know what the principle of laser surgery is and which band of laser diode is used in the internal core devices. Today, Xiaobian will give you a brief introduction.
In fact, the laser diode used in laser surgery mainly depends on whether it should be cut, solidified or treated. Different tissues have different absorption of light, so the band is naturally different. Generally speaking, the common medical laser bands are mainly concentrated in infrared, near infrared and visible light regions.
For example, in surgery, the most commonly used laser diode is near infrared band, mostly between 800nm and 980nm. The laser in this band can be well absorbed by the water and hemoglobin in the human body, which can achieve "precise cutting and rapid coagulation", reduce bleeding at the same time, and the wound is easier to heal. Many minimally invasive surgical laser knives use this kind of laser, such as oral surgery, otorhinolaryngology surgery, skin plastic surgery and so on.
For another example, in ophthalmic surgery, the choice of laser is more particular.
Laser for myopia surgery is mostly excimer laser (193nm, belonging to deep ultraviolet band), not diode laser, but red laser diode (generally about 635nm) is used in auxiliary systems such as positioning and aiming of surgery. Red light allows doctors to accurately see the position of laser irradiation.
There are also some laser beauty, mole removal and freckle removal equipment, which will use diode lasers with 532nm green light or 808nm infrared light. This kind of laser can accurately act on melanin or hair follicles, so that the energy is only concentrated in the target area and does not harm the surrounding skin.
If it is urology or prostate surgery, the laser diode in 1470nm band is mostly used. The absorption peak of the laser in this band is in the water, which can effectively vaporize the tissue and stop bleeding quickly, so the injury during operation is small and the recovery is faster. At present, many imported medical laser devices use this kind of high-power semiconductor laser.
Different wave bands and different absorption characteristics determine which surgical scene it can play a role in. A really good laser surgical equipment depends not only on the power, but also on whether the band matches the absorption characteristics of human tissues.
