We all know that laser diodes need to be polymerized into laser modules through optical lenses, so many people don't know how to choose optical lenses. Today, Xiaobian will give you a brief talk.
Want to hit far and gather together → use a focusing lens.
Want to form a line, a surface → use a cylindrical lens or diffuser.
Several common types of lenses
Spherical lens: simple imaging and routine use.
Aspheric lens: correct aberration and make the spot more concentrated.
Cylindrical lens: focuses light only in one direction.
Diffuser lens: uniformly divergent light.
Furthermore, the focal length is actually a key parameter that affects the "personality" of the laser module.
Short focal length (< 5mm) → fast light divergence, suitable for short-distance and close-range detection.
The focal length (10~25mm)→ the light spot is small and the energy is concentrated, which is suitable for general industrial ranging.
Long focal length (> 30mm) → small divergence angle, capable of hitting far, suitable for positioning or communication applications.
Considering the matching of environment and structure
In the industrial field, dust, vibration and temperature difference will affect the lens performance.
When choosing a laser module lens, don't just look at whether it is bright or not, but how and how far the light goes, and whether it is stable or not.
