Wavelength is the most intuitive parameter, such as common red light at 650nm, green light at 520nm, blue light at 450nm, and infrared bands at 808nm and 940nm. Different wavelengths have different uses. Like 650nm red light, it is often used for indication, positioning or bar code scanning; 808nm infrared is commonly used in medical, night vision or beauty equipment. The output power determines the brightness and energy. For example, a laser module with tens of milliwatts is enough for scanning and indicating. However, if it is used in cutting, welding or inspection, it requires high-power modules of several hundred milliwatts or even several watts. When the divergence angle is large, the beam will disperse quickly, and the illumination range will be large but the brightness will be low. The divergence angle is small, the beam is concentrated and shines far. For example, in the laser ranging module, special attention is paid to the divergence angle, which should be as small as possible so that the signal can be accurate.


Spot shapes are generally divided into circular, elliptical and linear. If you use it for scanners, visual positioning or cutting assistance, you have to choose it according to the scene.
