The basic performance of domestic mid-range models can already rival entry-level imported products. Under normal circumstances, there may be some significant parameter differences between batches, but ordinary domestic devices tend to exhibit slightly larger wavelength temperature drift and power fluctuation compared to top-tier imported products. The quality gap in high-end domestic single-mode beams is gradually narrowing, although there is still a lack of purity and stray light suppression capabilities. When used in high-precision optical equipment, an additional optical structure is usually required for compensation and adjustment;
Imported original products have matured significantly in core technologies such as epitaxial wafer growth, facet passivation, and vacuum sealing packaging. Under regular continuous operation, their service life can reach over 100,000 hours. Additionally, they exhibit slower light decay under long-term high-power operation and a wider range of high and low temperature tolerance, with minimal parameter changes between -40°C and 85°C. Domestic devices are categorized into different grades. The reliability of high-end automotive-grade and industrial-grade products has significantly caught up with imported products, and they are also close to imported standards in terms of temperature adaptability. Civilian and low-end industrial models have a relatively shorter service life, with faster light decay under continuous operation and more severe parameter drift in extreme high and low temperature environments. In terms of price, domestic products have a significant advantage. Basic models of the same specification cost only about 40% to 70% of imported products, and high-end models cost less than 60% of imported products. Additionally, long-term bulk purchases can significantly reduce the total material cost. There is a significant difference in delivery cycle. Imported original products from overseas typically take more than four months to order, and further delays may occur due to overseas stock shortages, export controls, or tariff changes. Domestic manufacturers can ship products within a week for in-stock items and complete delivery of customized modified products within one to two months, with faster response for replenishment. In terms of technological accumulation, imported brands have a 40-50-year history of research and development and a large number of patents in core technologies such as epitaxial wafer growth, facet passivation, and vacuum sealing packaging. With complete self-sufficiency in high-end gallium arsenide and indium phosphide substrate materials, they have comprehensive authoritative certifications in medical, automotive, aerospace, and other fields, along with complete compliance testing documentation. However, the supply chain of imported brands is significantly affected by international situations, and there is a risk of procurement disruptions for some high-power and high-precision models. On the other hand, the domestic laser diode industry has only developed for a decade, and there is still partial dependence on imports for high-end substrate materials. High-end butterfly sealing and high-precision fiber coupling packaging processes are still under continuous improvement. The advantage of domestic devices lies in the entire industrial chain being within China, which is not affected by overseas regulations. The cost of after-sales spare parts replacement and fault maintenance is lower, and local engineers can quickly provide technical support on-site.
