The development of UV LED is in full swing, driving the UV lamp market
LED bulbs can develop visible and invisible LED bulbs by adjusting the chip wavelength. Among them, UV LED becomes one of the driving forces for the development of ultraviolet lamps due to its low overall cost. Industry experts estimate that the uv light market will grow at a compound annual rate of 13.32% between 2017 and 2021.
Traditional ultraviolet lamp has the limitation of space and light, need another lens to assist adjustment, and traditional ultraviolet lamp contains mercury element mostly, and the service life of UV LED is longer, volume is small, light output is uniform and saves electricity, although initial cost is high, but can save up to 50% maintenance cost, reduce overall cost further.
Ultraviolet light, which is invisible between 100 and 400nm in wavelength, is mainly used for sterilization, 3D printing, medical treatment and curing technology, and widely circulated in the market. Currently, the commercial development of UV LED is mostly from 365 nm to 400 nm, belonging to the UVA spectrum with a long wavelength, which is used to solidify adhesive and is often used in consumer electronic products and disposable medical products.
With the development of LED in UVC spectrum, LED can also be used for sterilization and disinfection in the future, replacing traditional ultraviolet lamps.
UVC LED instrument need not operation in ozone environment, save electricity and miniaturization, a higher degree of freedom in product design, UVC future portable LED lights, and even can be embedded into other devices, a few seconds can be disinfected, for the laboratory or at the hospital in the narrow space, the usable floor area and the overall cost can be greatly reduced.
However, at present, UVC LED bulbs have to first solve the problem of heat dissipation. Currently, UVC LED conversion rate is only 5%, and the rest 95% is converted into heat energy. In addition to causing overheating and failure of LED chips, it will also damage their life and light output.
